We live in a digital age. We store everything in the cloud these days, from photos to music and documents. But when it comes to music, many of us prefer vinyl records because the sound quality is so uniquely awesome. Not to mention, if maintained properly, vinyl records can last a lifetime.
Storage for your vinyl:
- When you buy vinyl records, make sure you store them properly. Put them away in their sleeves and stack them vertically. Ensure they're not exposed to dust and humidity.
Cleaning your records:
Dust and dirt accumulate. You should really clean your records from time-to-time. Use a carbon fibre brush or even manually clean them with an appropriate cleaning solution. The basic idea is to clean them regularly and carefully.
Handling your collection:
Keeping your vinyl clean is only part of it. Make sure you handle your records carefully. Never touch the surface-- always handle at the edges. Once you’re done with listening to an album, put it in the sleeve immediately-- I know I mentioned that one, but it can't be stressed enough.
